Sauces & Marinades

 I was drawn to this recipe as a way to dress up our ordinary bowl of cranberry sauce on the buffet when we serve turkey.  I tried it for the Christmas dinner we served to our skiing guests, and they gave it a big thumbs-up.

This is the time of year when I start a concerted effort to use up the bags of frozen rhubarb to make room for the new rhubarb that’s coming up in my garden.  This is a quick and easy sauce that is especially good stirred into some vanilla yogurt for a healthy snack.  It only takes a bit to really taste like summer.

We love this fruity sauce with raspberry yogurt over warm waffles, but I’m sure it’s also delicious with ice cream.

I was able to successfully use frozen fruit for this new jam recipe.  That means when we run out of homemade jam in February, like we did this year, we don’t have to wait until the fruit is in season before replenishing the stock.  What a relief!
